Our Story

Lilleshall Preschool was set up by a group of parents in 1975. We are a non-profit making, voluntary sector group, run by a Voluntary Management Committee. We are a member of the Learning Alliance (PLA) and also Telford & Wrekin Early Years Partnership.

OFSTED Rating: Good (June 2023)

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and are able to accept government funding for working families. We offer 15- and 30-hours funding for 3- and 4-year-olds, as well as 'Talking Two' funding for eligible 2-year-old children.

🎨

Different Learning Styles

We promote different styles of learning and teaching to encourage children. Each child is unique, and what works for one doesn't work for another.

🌟

Child-Led Learning

In-the-moment planning following children's ideas and interests using the curiosity approach.

💝

Caring Environment

We provide a small, safe, warm, fun, and nurturing environment where children can flourish and reach their full potential.

🏡

Family Feel

We're proud of our family feel setting in a community village, with low staff turnover and strong parent partnerships.

🌳

Community Based

We give children different experiences: Monument walks, wooded area exploration, and meeting farm animals.

🤝

Inclusive & Respectful

We welcome children regardless of their needs, treating each child with respect and uniqueness.

Links with Lilleshall Primary School

While we are not part of Lilleshall Primary School, we have very good links. Our Manager and Deputy meet with the reception teacher once a term to discuss school readiness and development.

Transition Support

Children attending Lilleshall Primary School have the opportunity to meet the reception teacher on a weekly basis from June. They visit with a member of our staff for an hour to play, making their transition to school go more smoothly.

We also contact other local schools to arrange visits from their reception teachers, ensuring every child has a smooth transition to their chosen school.
