Experienced, Caring, and Passionate About Early Years

Our Wonderful Team

We have a warm, talented team of childcare experts here at Lilleshall Preschool. All of our staff are parents or grandparents themselves and understand the pressures parents face.

"We are blessed with a very motivated and enthusiastic team of staff — many of which have worked here for many years!"

All our staff have relevant childcare qualifications including Safeguarding and First Aid. When your child starts with us, they will be introduced to their Key Person who will help your child build strong relationships with staff and peers, ensure your child is safe and happy, and track your child's development.

The Key Person Approach

We believe that children settle best when they have a key person to relate to, who knows them and their parents well, and who can meet their individual needs.

🤝

Building Relationships

Your child's Key Person helps them form secure attachments and feel confident in the preschool environment.

📋

Tracking Development

They maintain detailed records of your child's progress and share regular updates with you.

💬

Parent Partnership

Your Key Person is your main point of contact and meets with you regularly to discuss your child.

🏡

Home Support

Your Key Person can assist with child development and behaviour at home, including sleep routines and mealtimes.

Parent Partnership Support

Your Key Person can also assist in supporting parents and carers with child development and behaviour at home - sleeping in their own bed, eating their dinner, etc.

We have successfully supported parents using reward sticker charts to achieve positive results. If you need extra help, please speak to your child's Key Person.

Settling In

We understand that starting preschool is a big step for both children and parents. Our settling-in process is carefully designed to make this transition as smooth as possible.

Before Starting

  • Pre-start visits to meet staff and explore the setting
  • Meet your Key Person
  • Complete registration forms together
  • Discuss your child's needs and routine

First Sessions

  • Parents stay for most of the first session
  • Gradually increase time away as child settles
  • Flexible approach based on individual needs
  • Regular communication about progress

Our Promise

We do not believe that leaving a child to cry will help them settle any quicker. We will contact parents if a child is not settling. We believe that a child's distress will prevent them from learning and gaining the best from the setting. We reserve the right not to accept a child without a parent or carer if the child finds it distressing to be left, especially with very young children.
